Miso Hippie at home.

When I lived at the IKRC Grand Canyon, one of my favorite off-campus things to do was to meet my friend Kit for lunch at a restaurant called Karma Sushi, in Flagstaff.

WE BOTH LOVE Miso Hippie. It's definitely comfort food. This ramen dish is mouthwateringly delicious and full of flavor. I have a craving for it from time to time, so I decided to dive into the search engine and come up with my own version. It did the job. I texted Kit and we agreed, it looks delicious. My tastebuds were pleased as well.

MISO HIPPIE (at home.)

I prepared the ingredients all separately then combined at the end.

  1. Fried tofu. After pressing the liquid out. I just tossed in some cornstarch and fried in the pan til lightly browned.

  2. Boil 2 eggs (soft).

  3. Crispy fry onions.

  4. Wisk 4 tblsp of miso paste, 1 tblsp toasted sesame oil, 1 tblsp soy sauce, 1 tblsp grated ginger, 4 cloves roasted garlic, 1 tblsp rice wine vinegar with several tblsps of warm water.

  5. Heat miso paste and 4 c. vegetable broth.

  6. Prepare somen noodles (3 mins)

  7. Put noodles in bowl, top with broth, crispy onions, fried tofu, scallions.

  8. Top with toasted sesame seeds
